'We know each other's rhythms,' actor says of working with De Niro before in 'The Score.'By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Given their collective bodies of work, and reputations for being serious thespians, Edward Norton and Robert De Niro seem like a perfect co-starring pair. Their first onscreen appearance together was in the 2001 heist thriller "The Score," and their second, "Stone," arrives in theaters this week.
In the film, Norton plays cold, calculating and convicted arsonist Stone Creeson, who is serving out the last few years of his sentence when he comes up for parole. In order to be released, he has to convince his very spiritual parole officer (De Niro) that he is ready to be back in the real world.
When MTV News caught up with the former Incredible Hulk, we asked him how he and De Niro came together for a second time and to describe their working relationship.
"He was really supportive of me and encouraging me even before we did 'The Score,' " Norton said. "So I felt good going into that one, but the nature of the material, it was a lot of fun. It wasn't maybe what you dream of when you say, 'Oh, I'd love to do a movie with Robert De Niro someday.' This was much more that," he explained of his work on "Stone."
Norton said what attracted him to the role was, first, a personal phone call from Mr. De Niro, and also the challenge of creating dramatic tension out of two people talking.
"When I found out he was in it, and he rang me up too and said, 'This could be really good for us,' that was exciting," Norton recalled. "I definitely felt that this will be good for us, and we know each other's rhythms and we can really mix it up in a way that would be thrilling to me."
Sure the convict-vs.-parole-officer thing has been done in film before, but if anyone can put a new spin on it, it's Norton and De Niro.
Check out everything we've got on "Stone."

News Roundup: 'Deadliest Catch' Stars Return to Show, 'Melissa and Joey' Gets a Full Season and More
Filed under: TV NewsThe 'Deadliest Catch' rumors reported earlier this week are true: Capts. Sig Hansen and Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand are returning to the show.
After the Hillstrands were sued by Discovery for not completing work on a spinoff series, they announced they would not participate in the upcoming season of 'Deadliest Catch.' Hansen followed suit and dropped out in solidarity with the brothers.
But now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Hillstrands have resolved their legal issues -- they'll finish work on the spinoff and participate in 'Deadliest Catch,' and Discovery has dropped the lawsuit. "I'm extremely pleased that we were able to resolve our clients' situation with Discovery," a lawyer for the brothers told THR. "The captains are very excited about the new season."
"We're happy we worked everything out with Discovery," the trio said in a statement. "A deal's a deal. We're heading up to Dutch Harbor to start filming the new season of 'Deadliest Catch' and hopefully it will be the best one yet."

The Situation Defends His Snooki 'Love Tap' On 'Jersey Shore'
Snooks, however, described the incident as a 'slap in the face' on the show.By Eric Ditzian

Just call it a "love tap."
That's how the Situation describes one of the most talked-about moments from Thursday's episode of episode of "Jersey Shore." It all went down when Sitch was trying to round up the roomies after a night at the club. Snooki didn't want to leave, and to get her attention, he raised up his hand to her.
"Don't f---ing slap me in the face and tell me that I need to go home," Snickers said on the show.
But to hear it from the Situation, all he was trying to do was keep her safe and avoid another incident like the one that went down during season one, when a drunken bar-hopper punched Snooki in the face.
"Snooki sometimes drinks a little too much," he explained to MTV News. "She is unaware of her surroundings and unaware of what's going on. Everybody was leaving, and she was the only one staying there. We usually go as a group and stay as a group. To avoid what happened in season one, I really wanted to try and keep an eye on her and not necessarily slap some sense into her, but let her know, 'Hey, you can't be here by yourself. You're a little girl, and the whole group was leaving.' It was a little love tap."
While the Situation maintained he had the best of intentions, he does acknowledge that he might have "went about it the wrong way or went about it too seriously." Yet he stopped short of expressing regret for his actions, adding, "I never regret anything."
"It's not like I punched somebody in the face," he continued. "It's not like I did a full smack, a hard smack. It was a little tap to her cheek. Like, 'Wake up, you're going to get hurt.' And if you care for somebody, that is definitely acceptable, because you're looking out for somebody."

'Wizard Of Oz' Prequel To Be Directed By Sam Raimi
Raimi is said to be eyeing Robert Downey Jr. to star in 'Oz, the Great and Powerful.'By Eric Ditzian

Sam Raimi will direct "Oz, the Great and Powerful," a 3-D prequel to the 1939, Judy Garland-starring "The Wizard of Oz," according to Deadline New York.
Disney and the former "Spider-Man" director are eyeing Robert Downey Jr. to star, and while it seems likely he'll join up, nothing has been set in writing.
Raimi's official commitment comes after word leaked in June that he was attached to the project. "Right now, we're still talking about making the movie. We don't have an agreement to make the film yet," Raimi told MTV News in July. "But it's a great script, and it would be great if we could come to an agreement and make the film, but it hasn't happened yet."
At the time, Raimi was also developing an adaptation of "World of Warcraft," but Deadline reports that he has committed to "Oz," with production expected to begin next year. The script is currently being rewritten by David Lindsay-Abaire, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his play "Rabbit Hole."
Downey was reportedly lukewarm about the project to begin with but began to shift his position as Raimi further developed the film. Helping matters was the more than $1 billion worldwide gross of Johnny Depp's "Alice in Wonderland," a 3-D tweaking of the well-known tale. In "Oz," Downey would play the Wizard of Oz before he became the iconic man behind the big green curtain.
